A few months ago I entered some of my photos in the Capture Kentuckiana Project. The project involved local amateur and professional photographers submitting their work to be viewed by the Courier-Journal staff as well as each other. Photos were voted upon and out 11,688 photos submitted 144 were chosen for the book. The book is a representative of Kentuckiana. I won $50 and second place for a photo I submitted in the 'News and Events' category! The photo was 'Rubber Duck Sea'. Funny enough it is one of my least favorite photos I submitted (yet it seems to be my most popular on here too), but I supposed I shouldn't be picky. I'm pretty proud of my accomplishment nonetheless because I was able to get my name out around Louisville as a photographer. Hopefully this will lead to bigger and better things!

It's been quite awhile since I've been on here. Things have been very busy for me with work and school and I haven't had much time to take any photos.

Unfortunately my husband and I went through a bit of a rough time at the end of October. We had to put our precious MacKenzie to sleep. She had been very sick and when we took her to the Emergency Vet they said there was nothing they could do. They suspect it was FIP, a rare and fatal feline disease. So in memory of her, here are a few of my favorite shots:

The good news is that my husband and I have adopted a kitten from the Humane Society! The house felt so lonely without MacKenzie, and while out new kitten will never replace how special MacKenzie was, its nice to have another baby running around the house again. Her name is Shadow and she is 6 months old! Unfortunately she hasn't sat still long enough for me to get a good shot of her, so for now this is what you get:

My husband and I went to Ebensburg, PA to visit with family for Thanksgiving. Luckily with the time off I was able to actually take some photos! I put up the first batch this evening:

The 2008 Ken-Ducky Derby was this past weekend here in Louisville. The Ken-Ducky Derby raises money for a local charity, Harbor House, which helps people with disabilities. If you are interested in learning about the Harbor House you can do so here.

Hola everyone! My husband and I are officially back from the honeymoon. Those three weeks in Peru went by way too fast! I have roughly 13 GB of photos to go through so it might be a while before you see anything posted up. Before I can even begin to choose the ones to edit and post up I have to go buy an external hard drive for my computer because I don't have enough free space for that many photos! I'm itching to look through them all though so hopefully I'll be buying that soon.

I posted up some photos of flowers I took at Farmington a few days after the wedding. I didn't get a chance to post them before we left for the honeymoon, so I figured I'd do it now. Of course now that I go back and look at them I'm not sure how much I like many of the photos. Haha. I went ahead and posted them all and I figure I'll delete the ones that aren't so popular in a few days.

Well, the big day has come and gone, and everything went so perfectly! We had a beautiful garden wedding with NO RAIN (they had been calling for it all week) and a fantastic indoor reception at a glass blowing company. The reception room was absolutely beautiful! I put up a few pictures in my scraps, I'll post more once we've received the professional ones. We leave this coming Sunday for our honeymoon in Peru! We will be there for three weeks so hopefully I'll get some amazing shots. I may post a few during those three weeks - it will depend on how busy we stay and how much internet access I have.

Since we're taking the trip of a lifetime to Peru we decided to go ahead and invest in a DSLR! I bought a Pentax K10D. I haven't really had that much time to play around with it because of the wedding, but I'm learning how to use it slowly. Here is one new photo I posted up:
